Learn a unique, centuries-old, and authentic Norwegian Laustak (free-hold) Glima and Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) combat and defensive system.
Laustak is a form of Glima (wrestling) uthat stems back from the Viking age and incorporates Sport and Combat-applied throws, locks and strikes. The wrestling class meets every Thursday at the Community Shed.
The HEMA class emphasises traditional Viking weapons, focusing on spear, sword, axe, shield, seax, and some two-handed swords and Danish Axe movements. This class meets in Innellan Hall every Monday.
Laustak also incorporates Draga (viking exercise and strength technqiues) and as a complete system hels to promote and benefit fitness, mental wellbeing, confidence, discipline and health.
Classes are currently only for young adults and adults aged 16+
