Susan Smillie – Local Author Event!
Monday 27th May, 7pm, Tickets £5
Bookpoint are absolutely delighted to announce we will soon be welcoming local author Susan Smillie, who will be discussing her phenomenal new book, “The Half Bird” with fellow local author Claire Daverley!
In 2016, feeling increasingly disillusioned with her hectic London life, Susan quit her job as a features editor for The Guardian, and decided to sail her beloved boat Isean around Britain, in hopes of reconnecting with herself, the country and its wild beauty.
But in an incredible moment of spontaneity while sailing round the tip of Cornwall, Susan found herself turning South, leaving Britain at Land’s End.
So began Susan’s 3 year adventure around the continent!
“The Half Bird” is a tour de force of a book – an exploration of grief, resilience, healing and nature – the desire to seek a new life, and to call the wild sea home.
Please call us on 01369 702377 or message the page to reserve your tickets for what will be a fantastic evening with a truly phenomenally talented local author – we cannot wait to welcome you Susan!!
