Cowal Gathering, founded in 1894, continues to bring the traditional elements of a highland games to Dunoon, with the added benefit of a family festival style event on the final day of competitions.
Several highland dancing championships are held including the World Highland Dancing Championships, bringing the best of the best to Cowal. The oldest pipe band competition, international heavy athletics competitions, traditional backhold wrestling, trade stands, family friendly entertainment and more.
